It’s hard to believe October is already here! This month the CP Ladies Book Club is reading Theo of Golden by Allen Levi.

It’s the story of an elderly man named Theo who arrives in the small town of Golden, Georgia, and quietly begins changing the lives of the people around him. The novel explores generosity, human connection and the importance of truly seeing one another.

New readers are always welcome. Watch the neighborhood Facebook group for the meeting date and host home.

When the water company repairs a leak, sediment and mineral deposits in the lines can get stirred up and discolor your water.

To clear it

• Run cold water from your bathtub faucet, or another faucet with strong flow, until it runs clear.
• This usually takes 10 to 20 minutes, and longer if the line from your meter to your house is especially long.
• If the water is still discolored after 20 minutes, call the Southern Utilities service department at (903) 566-3511.
